As a blogger for Insurance School Florida I hope for welcome news. It is September 2010 and the heroes of the most gutless and despicable terrorist attack on US soil are still having to deal with the aftereffects they made for others. I am talking to the thousands of men and women that thought little of themselves as they went to assist others in need after the World Trade Centers were attacked.
The dust and other troubles that have caused irreversible harm to them are still causing problems and taking a heavy price on those that survived their selfless acts on that day, almost 9 years ago.
There is a set of lawyers representing this group for the $713 million agreement that involves them. The deadline was September 8 of this year, for them to unite and either agree to or reject this proposal of a cash settlement.

The new deadline is now set as November 8, 2010, for the nearly 10,000 fire fighters, policemen, construction workers, and others that came to the Twin Towers when the need was sounded.
The settlement is being monitored by the WTC Captive Insurance Co. that represent New York City and the constructions companies that helped clean up the from the terrorist attack.
For the judgment to pass, over 95% of the respondents must accept the deal. As of today, over half of those eligible to join this select group of heroes has sent in an answer. With fewer than 50 votes towards rejection of the deal; so far the judgment looks to pass unless the future responses change this pattern.
The reason for the new date was explained by the WTC Captive President and CEO Christine LaSala. She was quoted as saying, “We are encouraged by the thousands of plaintiffs who have already opted in, but we decided to extend the deadline to make sure every plaintiff has ample time and information to make an informed decision.”
The settlement package for each participant in the judgment is determined by the damage they have at the present time, as linked to their health problems. The range of settlement packages will be from $1000 to $1 million.
