The Progressive Corporation was co-founded in 1937 by businessmen, Jack Green and Joe Lewis. Progressive provides auto insurance products, as well as other property-casualty insurance and related services for the United States.
Progressive has two main lines of insurance products: Personal Lines and Commercial Auto. The Personal Lines division sells insurance for personal automobiles, motorcycles, boats, and recreational vehicles through both their independent agents and direct. Progressive’s commercial auto line provides liability and physical damage coverage insurance for automobiles and trucks owned by medium to small size businesses.
Today, Progressive is one of the leading insurance companies in the United States with over 28,000 employees and 450 branch offices throughout the country. Fortune 500 magazine has rated Progressive 175th largest company in the world.
